SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

"CIUDAD DE LOS NIÑOS"

For many years, SIS and its members, aware of the role they play in the society, and the commitment they have with it, have continuously been searching for mechanisms that allow for the active and effective support of the less favored members in our country.

For that reason, and as a result of the search for the most effective mechanism to implement our social program, SIS chose in August 2002 "Ciudad de los Niños A.B.P." in Monterrey, Mexico as the social assistance mechanism that best reflects the spirit and objectives that our support program pursues.

The "Ciudad de los Niños de Monterrey", Private Welfare Association, is a social development center for low-income families devoted to the academic, technical, humane and spiritual education of children, teenagers and parents living in the metropolitan area in Monterrey.

Its mission is to the children and younger low-income population and their families, with a solid academic, technical, humane and spiritual education that leads them to be development drivers in our society with a Christian sense of life.

The "Ciudad de los Niños de Monterrey A.B.P." currently has four operation units where they offer support to parents, academic training to their teachers, comprehensive education to their students and medical services for the community.

As a whole, "Ciudad de los Niños" in Monterrey, Mexico participates in the development of 597 families, from which we have a student population in the boys' school of 466 members, and in the girls' school of 494 members.

Among their main achievements, we can mention the following:

  • 86 % of their alumni finish their professional studies.
  • Their schools stand out for achieving top academic results.
  • 100 % of the students who choose to pursue college education pass admittance exams.
  • The support offered to families increases their chances of success while keeping them united and with possibilities for comprehensive development.
  • Their medical unit offers more than 6,000 consultations a year.
  • There are permanent campaigns for cancer prevention.
  • Currently they offer health services in Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Dentistry, Gynecology, Dermatology and Urology.

Since August 2001, SIS participates with Ciudad de los Niños through a Scholarships Program called "Beca Padrino", with which we offer a scholarship program supporting four female students. Each scholarship includes:

  • Academic, technical and social education to the student.
  • Daily breakfast.
  • Basic medical attention.
  • School supplies.
  • Uniforms.
  • Transportation.
  • Human and technical formation to the parents.

From the start of our participation, we have made the following achievements thanks to "Cd. De los Niños":
