CALIMAX
Calimax is a company in the Northeast of Mexico. They develop their activities in the supermarket sector since 1939. They have 53 supermarket stores with sales floor space that ranges from 1,000 to 4,500 square meters per store, three wholesalers (with sales staff by routes to cater for micro stores from the different cities).
They have their own Distribution Center of 48,000 square meters (12,000 square meters for perishable goods and 36,000 for dry goods). Their storage capacity is of about 16,000 different products and merchandise volume to give service to more than 70 stores. They have more than 72 access doors for the reception and dispatching of merchandise.
Calimax works in association with a North American company named Smart & Final with whom they have established 13 stores in Mexico since 1993.
They work with more than 20,000 selling items, out of which 30% are importation products, generally from the USA. They have 5,000 employees.
Since 2001, SIS has worked with CALIMAX as a technology associate in charge of providing faster and more assertive solutions when reaching the market. The challenges that Calimax originally submitted to SIS were the following:
